On Sunday the 8^th I attended a Sunday service at Pilgrim Baptist Church, and that afternoon I attended and presented tributes at the memorial service of former Delaware State Representative Jack Billingsley. On Monday the 9^th I met with a county councilperson to discuss nuisance properties whose owners disregard flagrant code violations. On Wednesday the 11^th I attended the monthly coffee for Senator Dave Sokola and then joined the Coffee with a Cop program at the McDonalds near the Newark Free Library. That evening I attended a meeting of Kent and Sussex County lawyers and judges, the Terry-Carey Inn of Court, in Leipsic, to co-present HB 110, the bill which legalizes, regulates, and taxes recreational marijuana. On Thursday I had a meeting regarding safe communities. On Friday I met with DSEA to discuss improving public education.

On Sunday the 15^th I attended DAABA’s annual Diwali celebration. On Tuesday I attended a forum at the University of Delaware with Vice President Joe Biden and Ohio Governor John Kasich, and attended the reception afterwards at the UD President’s home.

Emails—I have had some emails regarding the road surface on a road spur near the entrance of Chapel Hill. I have had emails with DelDOT regarding the delay in addressing the several projects that I funded late last year. I had emails with constituents on a range of matters, including the city’s stormwater pond/park proposal, DelDOT maintenance of Harvest Lane, DSWA household recycling drop off site and yard waste sites in the greater Newark area, seeing whether Herman’s Quality Meat Shoppe can be added as a historic site (it recently reached its 50^th anniversary), DNREC permitting for a hike across Delaware, regarding the proposal to rename the West Park Elementary School, regarding a home in West Meadow where utility lines have fallen during a recent storm, about the implications of a recent FOIA ruling, about plans for the expansion of the Port of Wilmington, and about licensing/taxing airBnBs in Delaware. I have had a discussion with a colleague regarding a painful increase to the lot rent for a manufactured housing community.
