On Sunday the 8^th I knocked on some doors in Elan, and afterwards attended an event for the Newark Symphony. On Monday morning I had a meeting regarding charter school transportation policy. That evening I attended the monthly meeting of the 23^rd Rep District Democratic committee. On Wednesday 9/11 I attended Newark’s Patriot Day ceremony in the morning, a Newark Arts Alliance fundraiser at Grain on Main (where I served as a bartender), and ended the day at the Newark VFW Post 475 for another 9/11 ceremony. On Saturday I attended the end of a music program at Pilgrim Baptist Church on Barksdale Road. 

On Sunday the 15^th I attended Newark Community Day. That evening I attended the annual home owners association meeting for Country Place. On Monday morning I had a phone call regarding the End of Life Options Act. On Tuesday morning I participated in the Pomeroy Trail Connector Trail at Fairfield Crest. At noon I had a meeting in Wilmington on a FOIA bill. Afterwards I met with Rep Ed Osienski and Christina School District staff at DelDOT’s facility in Christiana. That evening I attended a public meeting regarding the redevelopment proposal for the Dickinson dorm complex. On Wednesday morning I attended a breakfast at Hodgson Vo-Tech before the HCR54 task force on local service fees. 

On Thursday morning I met at Christiana Hospital about the End of Life Options legislation. In the afternoon I met with an advocate with the Citizens’ Climate Lobby to discuss Bipartisan Climate Solutions. On Friday morning I had a phone call on a micro-brewery bill, taped two segments for Comcast Newsmakers, discussed my business and political background and lessons at the Free Lunch Friday program sponsored by the UD Entrepreneurship Club, attended the Global Climate Strike on UD’s campus, and stopped by the MIA/POW remembrance exhibit on Main Street sponsored by VFW 475 and UD’s ROTC students. Yesterday I attended part of the Newark High School football game, a cricket championship game at Lums Pond, and the Oktoberfest near Christiana High School. 

Emails—While the legislature is not in session, the pace of emails was pretty high during the past two weeks. 

I have had emails related to constituent needs—one on Social Security benefits being cut off, one on a request for pardoning an offense from over 25 years ago, with concerns over Main Street parking policy changes, speed bump height, with ensuring state services for a local person without housing, about RF energy production of 5G networks, about spamming, about panhandling, about court-imposed fines and fees, SEPTA service at the Newark station, several regarding renewable energy policy, a Medicare policy change for coverage for cardiac PET imaging, connection to Newark’s public septic system for residents of the county, about chlorpyrifos, about the White Clay Creek State Park master plan and trail plan, and about the End of Life Options Act. 

I have had emails with DelDOT regarding the pedestrian crossing of Cleveland Avenue at Herman’s Meat, about vegetation trimming along Possum Park Road, about traffic calming on Valley Road, and about a Convention of the States. 

I have had emails with the City of Newark regarding solicitation in our communities, and about their rain barrel program. 

I have had emails with UD about the accessibility of its buses, and about the Christiana Towers. 

I have had emails with elected officials regarding their attendance at upcoming events. 

I have had emails with Christina School District regarding downed trees on CSD property adjacent to a resident’s back yard. 

There have been very many emails related to our task force on local service fees between the county and municipalities. 

I have had emails regarding potential legislation, including on the 1897 Judicial Balance Law, a microbrewery alternating proprietorships, about marriage application requirements, and about state retirement plans for small businesses. 

I have had emails with DNREC, regarding the Big Pond proposal, regarding usage of our state parks for cricket leagues, and the upcoming ribbon cutting for the Tri-Valley Trail. 

I had emails with the Department of Education, regarding a student who was unhappy in their charter school and who wanted to transfer back to a Christina school, and about past charter school expansion reviews.
