2019 Update—February 3rd to 17th

I have been out of town during the past two weeks. On Tuesday the 12th I joined a conference call for the board of the Delaware Coalition Against Gun Violence, on which I serve. My aide Chris Norton attended several meetings in my place, including a community meeting of Nonantum Mills/Chapel Woods, and the Medical Marijuana Program Oversight Committee. Emails—I have had emails regarding upcoming proclamations I am helping with. I have had emails related to legislation I am working on (involving manufactured housing, plastic straw use, benzodiazepines, Share the Care Act, Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) reform, The Ron Silverio/Heather Block End of Life Options Act, and multi-levels to foreign language teachers’ credentials).

I have had emails related to recent legislation (HB52 and HB53, which I do not support, SB50 which I do support), HB23 (which I support).

I emailed the Joint Finance Committee (JFC) with comments regarding funding our public libraries and our historical markers.

I have had emails regarding city/University relations, and UD’s funding request of the JFC.

I have had emails related to legislative implications of the recent Delaware Supreme Court decision related to the registered political party for candidates for the judiciary. I have had emails regarding adjusting open meeting rules for those with disabilities.

I have had emails with DHSS regarding an individual who appears to need additional support.

I had emails with DelDOT, regarding use of its commuter parking lot for contractors working on the Christiana Hospital construction, and regarding collaboration with the City of Newark on pothole filling.

I have helped a resident with questions surrounding workers compensation coverage requirements.
