On Sunday afternoon the 9th I attended a forum hosted by the New Jim Crow Coalition in Wilmington with UD Professor Yasser Payne. On Monday I had a morning meeting on public education, a conference call in the afternoon with the national group supporting my End of Life Options Act, and in the evening I attended and spoke at the Newark City Council meeting. On Tuesday the 11th I participated in the morning meeting of the Delaware Coalition Against Gun Violence, in the afternoon I attended a meeting working on boosting e-prescription usage in Delaware, and in the evening our House Democratic Caucus members attended a dinner with the Governor in Dover. On Wednesday morning I hosted my monthly coffee. That afternoon I led a task force meeting on manufactured housing issues. Afterwards I met with an advocate for economic and social justice issues. On Thursday morning I met with a Newark resident who has concerns with the hiring practice of a state agency. On Friday morning I joined a conference call with a legislative attorney on verified voting legislation. That afternoon I attended a forum in Wilmington with family members of incarcerated Delaware citizens who have been moved to a prison in Harrisburg, PA. Afterwards I attended a Holiday Party hosted by US Senator Tom Carper. On Saturday morning I attended the graduation ceremony at Delaware State University. On Monday the 17th I attended a briefing with the Governor on the issue of shipping Delaware prisoners to Pennsylvania. In the afternoon I joined a conference call on the Share the Care act. Afterwards I attended a meeting focused on a drainage/erosion problem in Covered Bridge. On Tuesday I attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Whitney Athletic Center at UD. That evening I attended the AFSCME Holiday Party. On Wednesday the 19th I led the final task force meeting studying manufactured housing changes, We unanimously voted to support a 70+ page draft bill to make several improvements throughout the relevant Delaware law. On Friday morning I attended the ‘clap out’ ceremony at Downes Elementary, celebrating the 39-year career of retiring principal Trish Prettyman. Emails—I have had emails regarding the DATE/DABC process to address the alleged sale of alcohol to minors at Café Gelato, and with DHSS regarding the Division for the Visually Impaired. I had emails with the city of Newark about several issues, including my concern with a proposed 25mph speed limit for South College from the Amtrak bridge south to the UD stadium, the delay in address a water main lead in Chapel Hill, about a historical sign near Corbit St, a report of an unlicensed person selling food door-to-door in Newark neighborhoods, about emailed traffic alerts, I have had many emails regarding upcoming legislation, mine and others’. I resolved a constituent’s concern with an inaccurate claim that Delaware libraries were accessing ebooks unnecessarily difficult. I joined two legislative colleagues to address a resident’s concern with a senior care facility north of Newark. I shared college scholarship resources with another resident, about historical markers. I worked with Senator Sokola to prepare tributes for a resident’s upcoming 100th birthday. I have had several emails and calls with DelDOT, primarily about potholes, but also traffic studies and blocked culverts and heavy equipment left in Nonantum Mills,
