2017 Update—July 28th to August 11th

On Friday the 28th I joined a district breakfast in the 14th RD, in Dewey Beach. On Tuesday August 1st I attended the bill signing for HB 80, which prohibits auto insurance companies from using your credit score to set your auto insurance rate. On Wednesday the 2nd I had my monthly constituent coffee at Caffe’ Gelato. I met with two lobbyists later that morning to discuss current and upcoming legislative initiatives. On Thursday the 3rd I had a meeting to discuss quotas used by Delaware police agencies. This week I door knocked residents of Barksdale Estates.

On Monday the 7th I participated in a meeting with the Wilmington News Journal editorial board to explore the issue of our End of Life Options legislation. On Wednesday the 9th I had a tour of the Veterans Administration facility in Elsmere (thanks, Bob, for your assistance and encouragement to make this tour happen). During two evenings this week I door knocked district neighborhoods: Country Place and Elan.

Email—In the past two weeks I have had emails on many topics. Most were fairly isolated matters, questions about the transportation trust fund, charter school police, a dead deer in White Clay Creek State Park, a green energy grant rebate process, federal legislation on contact lens prescriptions,

I responded to several emails from late June, about proposals to reduce deductions for mortgage interest, the overall budget, bail reform, taxation of opioid prescriptions, sales taxes, child placement review board, a bill to enable a lethal violence protection order, school funding (including the pass through of the match tax), energize Delaware audits, manufactured housing law, the dock at New Castle, drainage at West Meadow, a recycling event, and signage at specific intersections.

Some emails related to matters of the City of Newark, upcoming meetings (stormwater, flood plain, Main Street enhancements, sidewalks and potholes, etc), and dead tree branches.
