On Saturday the 3^rd I joined in an event as part of UD’s Alumni Weekend. On Sunday the 4^th I attended a ribbon cutting for the Newark United Methodist Church’s Welcome Center, and afterwards attended the unveiling of the historical marker at the Mt Zion UAME Church. On Monday the 5^th I had a conference call on HB160 (End of Life Options Act) and one on HB180 (data breaches). That evening I attended the monthly meeting of the district Democratic committee. On Tuesday morning, the 6^th I met with members of UD’s administration. I attended the luncheon meeting of Delaware Common Cause. On Wednesday I hosted my morning coffee at Caffe’ Gelato, attended the state chamber of commerce function before session. On that day I presented HB160 to the House Health committee, and after a large number of public speakers, the committee voted to release the bill. After session I attended Newark High School’s graduation at the Bob Carpenter Center. On Thursday the 8^th after session I attended a reception by civil engineering firms, and then I attended most of the public meeting on the Coastal Zone Act legislation. On Friday I attended a National Guard deployment ceremony in Smyrna. On Saturday the 10^th I attended an fundraiser for Lt. Governor Bethany Hall-Long.

On Sunday the 11^th I participated in the Equality March in Newark. Monday night I stopped by the City of Newark city council meeting. On Tuesday the 13^th in the morning I had a meeting with members of UD’s administration. I attended several meetings before session that day. On Wednesday I chaired one committee meeting and attended several others, including ones that voted to release two of my bills (one on charity check-off boxes on tax returns, and one on qualifications for municipal board of adjustments—requested by the City of Newark). On Thursday morning the 15^th I participated in another conference call on HB160, and after session I attended an interfaith Iftar dinner at the Islamic Society of Delaware. On Friday I taped two segments for the Comcast Newsmakers program, one on the budget and one on moving the primary election to April starting in 2020.

My Legislation—HB 61, my bill to add the Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity to the charity check-off boxes on state tax returns, has released by the Senate committee. HB113 (Earned Income Tax Credit) is still in a Senate Committee. HB160 (End of Life Options Act) is on the House Ready List, as is HB163 (charity check-off, for United Way and Beau Biden Foundation). HB165 (direct shipment of wine) is in the House Administration committee. HB177 (qualification for boards of adjustment) is on the House Ready List. HB180 (data breaches) is on schedule to be heard in committee on June 21^st. 

Emails—In the past two weeks I have had emails on a wide range of topics. I have addressed constituent questions on the budget, on traffic concerns, automobile insurance for children, on affordable housing

I have had emails on two issues related to Christina School District.

I have had emails regarding city of Newark issues, including the Florida-T intersection proposal, HB189 and a proposed ordinance change related to small wireless equipment

I have had emails regarding contentious bills (SB5, Roe v Wade bill, HB190, Coastal Zone Act, HB242, tobacco taxation, HB222, Lethal Violence Protection Act, etc).

I have had many emails from constituents (and others) concerned with proposed public education cuts, cuts which will harm our children. There have been many additional budget-related emails (arts, retirement benefits, taxes, foster care, Child Placement Review Board, tourism board, etc). There have also been many emails about concerns that state dollars would be cut which defray the cost of drivers education courses for Delaware students in private schools.

I have had emails about bills I support, including SB24 (medical marijuana), HB110 (Marijuana Control Act), HB131 (a manufactured housing bill), SB47 (manufactured housing bill), district consolidation (no bill year), HB266 (DEDO restructuring into public/private partnership)

I have had emails regarding nomination to boards and commissions.
