(Newark, DE) Citing a long history of working with Newark senior citizens, Paul Baumbach will formally announce his candidacy for State Representative of the 23rd District at 11AM Thursday June 28th at the Newark Senior Center.

In making the announcement, Baumbach said, “One of my priorities if elected is to ensure that Delaware has sufficient consumer safeguards in place”. He said,”Seniors especially can be targeted by financial scams and predatory salespeople, and our state can do a better job protecting our senior neighbors”.

Baumbach has used his expertise in finance to present free Delaware Money School classes at the Senior Center for years, and he regularly offers seniors and low income citizens financial help in articles he writes for the Newark Senior Center newsletter. He noted his concerns include the areas of reverse mortgages, payday loans and foreclosure laws.

Baumbach will outline more of his program of support and concern for seniors and low income residents at the June 28th campaign kickoff event, which will be open to the public and media. The Newark Senior Center is located at 200 White Chapel Drive.
